SCOTTY helps save the day
When disaster strikes, immediate and effective relief is no longer hampered by inaccessibility, power black outs, or tele-communications breakdown.
SCOTTY provides the highest available form of communication from remote areas in difficult situations to perform remote-medicine, manage logistics, find missing persons, and bring back high quality video from the disaster site immediately.
Mission Support
With the help of a document camera, officials at headquarters can brief personnel in the field and personnel in the field can report back to headquarters. A map is placed under the document camera and saved as a still image. This image can be shared parallel to the live video, marked, and saved as a file. By connecting a telescopic camera, an assessment of operations can be made. Written reports and orders can be sent as a file and printed.
Specialized support is available to personnel dealing with, for example, gas leaks or clearing damaged structures. The Mobile Unit, satellite telephone, and external camera are set up directly on site, obtaining power from a vehicle. Experts can assess the situation, describe procedures, and make decisions.
Logistics
With the help of an outside camera, officials can observe the field of operations. Windows-compatible stock-control programs can be shared between headquarters and the field. Written forms can be transferred as a file and printed.
Remote Medicine
The SCOTTY Mobile gives medics in the field the support of doctors at headquarters. This is done with the use of multiple cameras, interfaces to medical equipment (e.g. ECG), the ability to work on medical databanks, and sharing high quality stills. Field personnel obtain help in diagnostics, treatment, and deciding if and when an airlift should be organised.
Locating Missing Persons
The SCOTTY Mobile can be used to store and transmit photographs of family members. Displaced persons can contact relatives immediately.
