Frequently Asked Questions About PBX Videocommunication

Can you use a videophone with a PBX?

Yes.

Why can I only make speech calls on my mm225 or mm120 when it is connected to a PBX?

The PBX has to be configured to accept both speech and data calls. Most PBX's are only configured for speech calls which will prevent ISDN video calls. Consult your PBX manufacturer for guidance with changing the call types.

Can I use an IP videophone with my IP-PBX?

SCOTTY's IP videophones are tested with many different types of IP-PBX that support the H.323 protocol.  There are compatibility issues when connecting to some types of IP-PBX, and some extended call control and messaging techniques are not available, however a voice call is possible on most H.323 PBX systems.  Please contact your SCOTTY represenative for further information if you are considering this solution.
