Anticipating tomorrow
The reason why most people face the future with apprehension instead of anticipation is because they don't have it well designed! (Emanuel James “Jim” Rohn)
For every company, it is essential to look ahead to tomorrow and to prepare today for the challenges of the future. It is not enough to just keep up with current developments and requirements. Rather, it is essential to look a little way into the future and then be sufficiently ready when it becomes the present.Find out here what future developments we expect and let us show you how we are aligning SCOTTY to help shape the future, generate ideas and perhaps even set new trends. Nothing is more important to us than serving our customers and creating better value and new opportunities for them.
It is difficult to say what will be in a hundred years. But if you look at current developments and the changes in the latter years, you can deduce where the way of life, especially technologies and their influence, as well as the future relevant requirements will move.At the moment, the effects and after-effects of the pandemic are still very much in evidence. On the one hand, we are severely affected by the bottlenecks in the supply chain, and on the other hand, we have learned to work remotely and to establish contacts with people you have never met in person. We have learned that we need to react quickly, and anticipate, to remain successful. This requirement is also reflected in future technologies.Flexible and adaptable designNew technologies come very quickly and bring completely new features. If you look at satellite-based systems, for example, the technological transition to near-earth satellites means that a small number of GEOs is being compared with an almost dew-fold increase in the number of LEOs. The result of this development are completely changed availabilities, higher bandwidths, lower latencies - simpler and in parts also better communication. The availability and performance of the network, which was a dream just a few years ago in the mobile telephony network, has long since been realized in the new satellite network. In order to keep up with this rapid pace, as well as to be available quickly and with foresight, we have set ourselves the task of keeping the design of our new product generation flexible and adaptive. With our new generation of hardware and software, it is possible to flexibly combine small components with very specific functionalities in order to be able to cope with dynamic growth as well as changing challenges in an optimal way. For example, our products for secure video conferencing start with a device for the (fixed or mobile) workplace and end with (relocatable) meeting rooms. As a technical innovation, we increasingly rely on data transmission based on light (also in the non-visible range).Distributed and dynamic structuresIf there is one lesson to be learned from the pandemic, it is that the advantage of simplicity of centralized control can never make up for the disadvantage of vulnerability. Relying on strong structures - even if they have been tried and tested for a long time - is a major danger. Our components will counter this threat by dynamically combining and utilizing the best available base. We will create components that use what is available instead of refusing to serve based on unmet requirements. As far as the technology of networks is concerned, SCOTTY will pay special attention to dynamic ad hoc networks. In such networks, participants contribute themselves in an automated way. Of course, communication in such spontaneously and dynamically formed structure is completely secure and confidential. Especially when it comes to security, it is not a good solution to cover this exclusively by design specifications. From the risk of transmissibility of diseases, we expect a further rethinking of the gathering of larger numbers of people. For this reason, we have started to implement a very innovative idea. A room within a room concept that provides a completely shielded room for 2 to 8 people. This room meets all the safety requirements for shielding and ensures that nothing unwanted gets out. Optionally, this room can also be relocated.Change in mindsetFinally, it is important to us not only to provide our customers with the best possible technology, but also to identify and pursue new ideas and approaches with our customers. Of course, SCOTTY will remain the trusted partner in implementation, but we will have a clear and strong focus on innovation and the development of long-lasting product series.
