IP Connection Solutions

IP - Internet Protocol - can use virtually any transmission medium. The IP component enables packet based data to traverse multiple networks from node to node, both locally and also on the global Internet. IP forwards each packet based on a four byte IP address that uniquely identifies a device on an IP network.

IP solutions come in a number of flavours-

Corporate WAN:

• Often a private network with private leased line or VPN connections between offices.

• Strong firewalling between the corporate WAN and the public Internet
• Symmetrical bandwidth between sites.

Broadband:

• Having downstream bandwidth of at least 384 kbps - 10x faster than PSTN.

Broadband can be delivered in a variety of media such as ADSL (Asymmetric digital subscriber loop), Cable, Fixed Wireless or Satellite.
