Satellite Communication Networks

Satellite connections allow IP, ISDN or PSTN access in remote areas where terrestrial networks are not availble.

Inmarsat

INMARSAT provides a global access to ISDN, IP and PSTN networks using small, portable terminals. Special INMARSAT services allow network access from ships, planes, and moving vehicles.

VSAT

VSAT systems offer a continous high bandwidth communication between two VSAT terminals. The data channel can be used directly for video communication or to provide IP or ISDN access.

DVB-RCS

DVB-RCS provides asymmetrical and shared IP access, using existing digital satellite TV technology.
