| When PAL TV type selected from the menu, the LCD screen drops slightly. |
This is normal; this happens because the LCD screen on the mm225 is NTSC. |
| On connecting to an ISDN line, a dial tone is heard. However after a minute or so, the tone disappears. If a call is made to the unit, it will ring and accept. After hanging up a dial tone is present, once again if left for a min or so again, the tone disappears. |
There may be a bad connection, so try reseating the ISDN cable at both ends. Ensure that no other equipment, such as a fax machine, is connected to the 2nd B channel. |
| Grey and grainy self-view image, and the transmitted video is the same. |
Reset the system video defaults, as this problem is usually due to an incorrect setting. |
| When in a speech call the unit automatically trys to establish a video call. |
This is due to an incorrect setting. Within the Preferences menu, set H.324 to voice. |
| Is the video output from the unit an analogue signal? |
Yes, the video signal is analogue, and is 1v peak to peak. |
| Error code 88 (incompatible destination) is often displayed on making a call. Incoming calls into the mm225 work with out problems, and the audio call side works fine. |
This is a line problem, most common in the USA, which occurs when the phone company inadvertently selects a long distance carrier that could not supply the appropriate connection/line for the data. |
| Can you connect the mm225 at 128K over Inmarsat? |
This can be done. Contact Ottercom and 7e Communications for details on the Ottercom Storm system, which provides the necessary linking. |
| Cannot get the upgrade tool to work on Windows 2000. |
The upgrade tool only works at 9600bps on Windows 2000. |
| Netmeeting not working |
Contact SCOTTY for direct connect software and help to set up this procedure. (see also Technical notes for assistance.) |
| Unable to transfer calls using the 'RECALL' button. However, this produces an error message. |
Recall only works for audio calls, not video calls. |
| Unit makes calls but is unable to receive them. |
Check whether any SPIDs have been set up correctly (see Technical notes). |
| Can the mm225 be used to trigger an alerting device, such as a beacon, pager etc. |
Yes, the mm225 can be used for this (but not the mm220). Contact Technical Support for help and details. |
| Can the unit be connected to a CCTV systems? |
Yes, the unit can connect to any system that has composite video in/out and line level audio in/out. |
| Customer has a fax and the mm225 on a secondary line. However, when a call comes in both the fax and mm225 ring. |
Suggest putting in MSN number in to ISDN profile to prevent the mm225 ringing when the call is for the fax machine. |
| Will the mm225 work with a Meridian switch? |
No, the Meridian switch is digital, and the mm225 is not compatable with this type of switch. |
